The magnitude of the carbon crisis is such that every possible tool needs to be available to policy makers as they craft their response.
The issue of carbon pricing is intensely polarized in Canada.
This panel projected forward and addressed the challenges and opportunities in moving beyond such polarization to develop a more constructive dialogue around carbon, climate and our energy future
We discussed how carbon pricing can be brought back into the stable of acceptable policy options at a federal level.

Pricing carbon is a critical success factor for the future of Canada & the world. A Carbon Fee & Dividend (aka Safe Climate Benefit), whereby a fee is collected at point of extraction or import is an easy, cheap, and fast way to implement a market-based, revenue-neutral, and technology-independent, accountable, predictable carbon price that escalates annually. The benefit returned to Canadians would provide funds to cover the increased price and take action to reduce emissions. A border adjustment would ensure Canadian exporters are not be penalized. It is a system easy to harmonize with other countries.

Hi Isabel – the panel will be open to register next week. Stay tuned on twitter and facebook for updates!
I registered for this for “Livestream Only” and got a ticket, which said to bring the ticket to the “event entrance”. I can’t make it to Ottawa that day, and want to stream from my home in Kingston. Can I do that?
Thanks,
Fred
