Shannon MacDonald

Ms. MacDonald is the Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs for Johnson & Johnson Inc. (Canada) where she leads internal and external communications, provincial and federal advocacy and policy initiatives, and stakeholder relations for J&J’s Consumer Healthcare division. A long-standing health policy advocate, Shannon has worked with patients, health charities, research organizations, government agencies and industry to advance patient-centred policy to help Canadians live well. Shannon founded the Neurological Health Charities Canada (NHCC) coalition, co-authored the NHCC’s Framework for a National Brain Strategy (2010) and co-chaired Canada’s first National Population Health Study of Neurological Conditions (2014), working in partnership with the Public Health Agency of Canada. In her spare time, Shannon volunteers on the Board of Directors for Consumer Health Products Canada, the Toronto Central Community Care Access Centre and the University of Alberta Dean’s Advisory Board for the Faculty of Pharmacy. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Shannon lives in Toronto with her husband Breydon, two daughters and a Jack Russell Terrier named ‘Haggis’.
