Pandemic Report Card

Next week, the World Health Organization’s Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response will release its main report, outlining recommendations “aimed at resetting the international pandemic preparedness and alert system.”

The panel of 13 experts from around the world have met over the last year to understand the global impact of the pandemic and assess how the international community must evolve to prevent and mitigate future health threats.

Join Canada 2020 on May 13 to hear from Dr. Joanne Liu, member of the Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response, and Jennifer Welsh, Canada 150 Research Chair in Global Governance & Security at McGill University as they discuss report findings, important lessons learned along the way, and what they mean for improving preparedness here in Canada.

We will be joined by:

  • Dr. Joanne Liu, member of the Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response
  • Jennifer Welsh, Canada 150 Research Chair in Global Governance & Security at McGill University
  • Amanda Glassman, Executive VP and Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Development and CEO of CGD Europe

This event will be broadcasted on Zoom and Canada 2020’s Facebook page.
